Setup and support for
private Mac autocomplete.

Glintype is designed to stay quiet, but macOS permissions, model choice, and app compatibility matter. These notes give beta users clear answers without crowding the app itself.

Quick start

The first-run flow in five steps.

  1. 1Install the DMG and drag Glintype into Applications.
  2. 2Grant Accessibility and Input Monitoring so Glintype can read the active text field and capture Tab.
  3. 3Choose the recommended local model for your Mac, or use Apple Intelligence when supported.
  4. 4Type in a supported app and press Tab when the ghost text is useful.
  5. 5Add dictionary entries for phrases like “my email” so local memory can help instantly.
